How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment here or call (740) 739-3226. Please note that Body Mosaic is a one person operation, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Massage therapy sessions are more effective when the body is hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to your massage. While you are not expected to come in right after a shower, please be respectful and do not come in with dirty, stinky feet. Good hygiene and no offensive smells is considerate of all the people who walk into the massage studio.
Do I need to fill out paperwork before my appointment?
You will be asked to fill out paperwork on your arrival. Intake will take about 5-8 minutes to discuss and your massage time will start thereafter. General intake time will not be included in your time on the table, you will receive the full amount of time for your service.
Where should I park my car?
There is plenty of street parking on West North St.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. Body Mosaic is an appointment based, one person run massage studio. Please make your massage appointment via online or call at least 24 hours beforehand.
What is your cancelation policy?
Please give a 24 hour notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments. If you must cancel the same day as your appointment, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the services scheduled. Appointments missed without notifying Body Mosaic will be subject to 100% costs of the services scheduled.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Gift certificates can only be purchased in person. If you'd like to purchase a gift certificate, please email Harmony@theBodyMosaic.com, and schedule a time to pick up.
What products are used for the massage?
The relaxation massage is performed using Biotone dual massage cream, with the addition of a lavender and fir needle essential oil blend, magnesium lotion, and Biotone herbal select foot therapy lotion.
The integrative massage is administered using Biotone dual massage cream, with Biotone herbal select foot therapy lotion, as well as Po Sum On oil (a Chinese warming liniment used to promote circulation and invigorate the blood) when utilizing cupping therapies.
The botanical massage consists of different herbal blends of oils, dried herbs and liniments. Herbal compress can consist of dried herbs such as lemongrass, peppermint, gotu kola, lemon balm, plantain, ginger, or licorice. Warming oils for "cold" arthritis include ginger, ashwagandha, and chamomile with clove and black pepper essential oils. Soothing oils for "hot" arthritis include comfrey, calendula, and monarda with amyris and sweet birch essential oils. Dit Da Jow (Chinese 'hit' medicine) is used for sprains, strains and bruising. Poke and violet oils are used to move lymphatic stagnation. Nourishing balms that include calendula, black seed, and nettle are used for skin conditions. White Flower (Chinese camphorous oil) is used to alleviate headache and open up respiratory pathways. St. John's Wort oil is used for neurological extremity pain.
Do you offer prenatal massage?
Yes. Prenatal can be booked as a relaxation massage, and is a light to medium pressure, sidelying massage.
